Becoming a Coach
 
 
Are you a fan of competition? Do you want to motivate other to do their best? Then becoming a CYA Certified coach is the thing for you. You can coach at a club level or you can make it all the way to the Olympic level.

The Learn To Race Coach clinic encompasses training on skill progression, detection and correction, curriculum planning, teaching methodology, roles and responsibilities of a coach, and evaluation both on and off the water.
As part of the C.B.E.T. (Competency Based Education Training), the LTR focuses on maximizing training time and minimizing classroom time.
 
Approximate Training Time: 210 hours + 50 hour coaching course
 
 
The Orange (Level III) Race Coach clinic develops candidates into high performance coaches. Course content takes an indepth look at Roles: at Responsibilities of a coach, fundamental principles for the advanced Race Coach, coaching methods, conditioning, preparation, and goal setting, on-shore and on-water preparation for racing, post-race analysis, evaluation, and correction, The Corinthian Spirit, protests and appeals, and seasonal planning and competition/team management.

Approximate Training Time: 260 hours + 50 hour coaching course
